Who we are
Connect Shoppers Online sells home furniture, office furniture and 100% human hair products to customers in South Africa and selected export markets. We are the responsible party for the personal information described below, as defined by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Your name, email address and mobile number when you create an account or place an order.
- Your delivery address, province and postal code so that we can deliver your goods.
- Your order history, payment references and the proof of payment documents you upload.
- Messages you send to our AI assistant or to our support team through a ticket.
- Basic technical information such as browser type, pages viewed and cookie preferences.
Why we collect it
- To process, pack and deliver your order and to confirm your bank transfer.
- To answer questions, resolve complaints and handle returns or warranty claims.
- To keep accounting records as required by South African tax law.
- To send you specials and product news, only where you have agreed to marketing.
Card and banking information
We do not accept card payments and we never ask for your card number, PIN or online banking password. Orders are paid by bank transfer (EFT) into the business account shown on your order page. Anyone asking you to pay into a different account is not us — please contact us first.
Who we share information with
We share only what is necessary with our delivery partners (name, address, phone number), our hosting and database provider, and our email provider. We do not sell your personal information. Our AI assistant sends the text of your chat messages to an AI model provider so that it can answer you; do not type card numbers, passwords or ID numbers into the chat.
How long we keep it
Order records and proof of payment documents are kept for five years to meet tax and audit requirements. Account details are kept until you ask us to delete your account. Support tickets are kept for two years.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your account and any information we are not legally required to keep.
- Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.
- Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you are not satisfied.
Cookies
